Eligibility: Graduating High School Seniors intending to further their education by attending a public community/junior college, a four-year institution or a vocational training institution that grants a degree, certification or license. Seeking students who live in or attended school in the Clarkston area, and favoring a student with a commitment to their community and charity.

Scholarships available: Two (2) @ $1500.00 each

Major: Open to all Majors

Minimum GPA: Minimum 2.0 GPA

Essay: Finalist Essay from final 6 applicants will be requested

Financial Need: Please explain your need in the application

Additional Information for Consideration:

· SAT and/or ACT scores

· Official High School Transcripts

· Documentation of any Community Service

Application Deadline: Tuesday, 09 February, 2016

Forms must be received or postmarked by this date to be eligible.

Cedar #60 shall accomplish this by creating a growing, active, relevant lodge of great appeal that is well known and respected as a role model for other lodges and organizations.


Elwin R. "John" BrownElwin "John" R. Brown December 20, 1942 - August 10, 2015

Elwin R. “John” Brown of Sterling Heights; formerly of Waterford; Passed August 10, 2015 at the age of 72. He was a husband of Betty; father of Chris (Kim) Brown & Sally (Paul) Crider; stepfather of Janeen (Chuck) Rice; also survived by many grandchildren & great grandchildren; brother of Frank Brown. John retired from General Motors. He was an active member of Cedar Masonic Lodge # 60 for over 38 years and enjoyed hunting, woodworking & motorcycling. He proudly held the offices of Master of Cedar #60, Regional Grand Lecturer and the Grand Lecturer of Michigan Free & Accepted Masons. This scholarship is named in his memory in recognition for his leadership and example within our community.
